Following the success of the inaugural event, planning soon began for a follow-up. Early discussions included the possibility of another lakeside route, such as Lough Corrib, and the idea of hosting events in alternate years alongside the biannual Eyrecourt Vintage Show.

As planning progressed, the concept evolved into a new event for 2026—Rolling Grey on the Atlantic Way. This event will bring iconic Ferguson tractors to Ireland's western seaboard, travelling along sections of the world-renowned Wild Atlantic Way.

The event is scheduled to take place on 22–23 August 2026 and will feature an 80 km return journey from Clarinbridge, Co. Galway to Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare, including an overnight stay in Ballyvaughan.

This year's chosen charity is Oscar's Kids Ireland, a national children's cancer charity.

Event Details

The event will begin and conclude in the village of Clarinbridge, Co. Galway, renowned for its annual market day and internationally acclaimed native oysters—an ideal starting point for this unique journey along the Wild Atlantic Way.

The overnight stop and evening vintage display will take place in Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare, a picturesque harbour village on the edge of the Burren, one of Ireland's most distinctive landscapes.

The route will commence at Kilcornan House in Clarinbridge on Saturday, 22 August, travelling through:

Ballindereen

Kinvara

Bealnaclugga

Bellharbour

Participants will arrive in Ballyvaughan later that evening.

Vintage Display – Ballyvaughan

A special vintage display will be held in Ballyvaughan on the evening of 22 August. A highlight of the event will be a traditional steam threshing demonstration, featuring a steam engine and threshing mill travelling from County Kerry.

The evening will also include participation from the local vintage group, the Ballyvaughan Old Boys & Belles, who regularly tour the area in their vintage vehicles.

A small charity auction will take place that evening at Greenes Bar, Ballyvaughan.

Return Journey

On Sunday, 23 August, participants will begin the return journey via the scenic Flaggy Shore, arriving back in Clarinbridge in the afternoon.

Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a final rest stop near the village's historic market green and avail of local cafés, bars, and restaurants before departing.
